About The Position
Direct Support Professionals (DSP) work with individuals experiencing developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. This role assists individuals in their daily lives, collaborating with them and their support networks to ensure they can live fully within the community. DSPs uphold individuals' rights to direct their own lives, recognizing unique gifts and needs, and support skill development for personal growth.
Requirements
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Access to reliable transportation
Nice To Haves
- 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
- Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field
Responsibilities
- Provides call-in or back-fill support as a Permanent Relief Support.
- Assists individuals in their daily lives.
- Works with individuals and their connections to ensure they can live fully in the community.
- Supports individuals to learn skills for their own growth and development.
