Direct Support Professional - Briarcliff Manor Part-time Available
About The Position
Cardinal McCloskey Community Services (CMCS) is seeking caring and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living more independent and fulfilling lives. The role helps create a safe, respectful, and empowering environment in which individuals can thrive. CMCS's mission is to protect, empower, and promote independence for at-risk children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities through high-quality, community-based services. Part-time schedules are available: Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m.–3 p.m., or Sunday and Monday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m. Starting pay is $17.46 per hour, or $17.96 per hour with a bachelor's degree or three years of experience. Certain locations—Deveau, St. Theresa, Waterbury, and Locust—offer differential pay with potential earnings up to $20 per hour. Employees receive an additional $0.75 per hour after completing all required training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or two years of work experience.
- A caring, upbeat personality.
- Valid New York State driver's license held for at least two years and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely lift and assist up to 70 pounds to support mobility, personal care, transfers, and emergency needs.

- A bachelor's degree or three years of experience qualifies for the stated $17.96-per-hour starting pay.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, including hygiene, cooking, housekeeping, and laundry.
- Assist with medication administration, transportation to appointments, and behavioral support as needed.
- Encourage independence and community involvement by supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals.
