About The Position

At ViaQuest Residential Services, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities and their homes. Comprehensive training is provided, making experience unnecessary. This role offers a chance to make a significant difference in the lives of the individuals served and is ideal for those seeking a career in healthcare, particularly within the IDD field, or for those looking to gain experience while studying or without a degree. The position is open to candidates of all ages, from high school graduates to retirees.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Personal, reliable vehicle that can be used to transport individuals served.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and car insurance.
  • Fewer than 6 points in the last three years on your motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to foster independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety needs are met.
  • Supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in all aspects of their lives.
  • Completing household tasks such as meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Providing personal care assistance.
