About The Position

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. This role involves being active in the community, requiring patience and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Comprehensive training is provided for this position.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Possession of a personal, reliable vehicle for transporting individuals served.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and car insurance.
• Fewer than 6 points on motor vehicle record in the last three years.
• Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to foster independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety.
• Supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Completing household tasks such as meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Providing personal care assistance.
• Transporting clients to community activities and appointments.
