About The Position

MARC, Inc. is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals for our Residential Department who will be responsible for assisting persons with developmental disabilities in their group homes. This role involves helping individuals with their daily activities, including managing their home, finances, proper nutrition, and medical needs. The Direct Support Professional will also focus on developing natural supports and assisting individuals with personal growth and achieving their goals. The ideal candidate will possess compassion, previous experience assisting adults with special needs, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and good judgment.

Requirements

• Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance, as driving is a requirement of the position.
• Must have a High School Diploma.
• Ability to obtain CT license, auto-registration, and vehicle insurance as driving is required
• Knowledge of proactive thinking and positive supports

Nice To Haves

• CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides both staff and natural supports to and implements services for each person served.
• Ensures each person served becomes involved in their community utilizing natural supports.
• Support each person served in taking care of their home, finances, proper nutrition, and medical needs to the best of their ability.
• Work with the Group Home Manager on goals of people served.
• Ensures residential settings according to the physical standards at all times.
• Ensures that all persons served are accorded all their rights and responsibilities and are free from abuse or neglect.
• Ensures confidentiality and demonstrates positive attitude and behavior at all times so as to provide an appropriate role model for others.
• Attends all applicable MARC training sessions including CPR, First Aid, PMT, and Medication Certification.
• Transports persons served in either an agency vehicle or a personal vehicle whenever necessary.
