About The Position

EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs). EdAdvance is also a partner in the RESC Alliance and works collaboratively with the other RESC groups to support state-wide initiatives. Mission EdAdvance, exists to promote the success of school districts and their communities. EdAdvance is redefining what a Regional Education Service Center can be using a systemic approach � grounded in the " 3C's ", Connection Culture, and Customization. Focused on local and regional priorities, we are reinvesting the expertise, energy, and resources of the agency to amplify the benefit of our constituents. Direct Support Professional (DSP) Full-Time: 37.5 Hours per Week | Non-Exempt Locations: Danbury, Ridgefield, Brookfield, and New Milford, CT Pay Rate: $17.25 per hour Now Hiring | Start as Soon as Possible Start a Career That Makes a Difference�No Experience Needed If you're compassionate, reliable, and ready to learn, we'll provide the training. As a Direct Support Professional, you'll support individuals in building life skills, connecting with their communities, and reaching their goals�while building valuable experience for your own career.

Requirements

  • Compassionate, dependable individuals who enjoy helping others
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stay organized and adapt to different situations
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred)
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license with reliable transportation and active auto insurance
  • Willingness to transport individuals (mileage reimbursement may apply, if applicable)
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and assisting individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform physical interventions (training provided)
  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential
  • Position requires documentation and compliance with state program standards
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Help build independence through daily living skills, financial literacy, and social development
  • Assist individuals at volunteer or job sites while promoting confidence and positive work habits
  • Plan fun, engaging, and meaningful community activities
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation to programs, jobs, and appointments
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
  • Document progress and communicate effectively with team members, families, and partners
