About The Position

The Arc Ontario is hiring a Direct Support Professional for its Day Hab team in Canandaigua. The role supports people with developmental disabilities in pursuing personal growth, independence, and meaningful participation in their communities. DSPs provide habilitation services in community settings, generally one-to-one or in small groups, and help individuals build skills and self-sufficiency. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., or per diem.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, with one year of relevant experience or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience.
• Driving is required; must have reliable transportation and a safe driving record for one full year before the hiring date.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

• Provide habilitation support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, generally one-to-one or in small groups, in a variety of community settings.
• Provide training opportunities to enhance each person’s self-sufficiency in employment, personal independence, community integration, and productivity.

• Drive individuals on a daily basis.
