About The Position

The Arc Ontario is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for its Day Hab team in Canandaigua. The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities in pursuing personal growth, independence, and meaningful community participation. DSPs provide habilitation services, generally to small groups or individuals, in a variety of community settings. They also provide training that helps individuals build self-sufficiency in employment, personal independence, community integration, and productivity, while promoting the agency’s mission, vision, and values. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., or per diem. The Arc Ontario describes its workplace as a flexible and fun team environment and emphasizes investing in staff. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Driving is required; must have reliable transportation and a safe driving record for one full year before the hiring date.
Ability to drive individuals on a daily basis.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
