About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in Redding, CA. DSPs will interact with and support individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including community, family, and individual homes. The role involves assisting with direct care, implementing behavior plans, and enhancing the health, safety, dignity, and contentment of consumers. This includes training and assisting individuals in personal care, communication, and social skill development.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Experience using a Hoyer Lift

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
• Experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience supporting consumers with G-Tube care

Responsibilities

• Provide the full personal care and support to clients who live in the home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies
