About The Position

Morrison Center is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to be based in Wells, Maine. This role involves supporting clients in maintaining, obtaining, and managing their goals. The DSP will provide personal care, transport clients into the community, complete daily documentation, and possess a good understanding of community supports.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED Required
DSP Certification preferred but will train the right candidate
CPR/First Aid Certification
Safety training such as Mandt, Safety Care, etc.
Prior experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Valid Maine Driver’s license required and a clean driving record
Experienced with transfers in and out of wheelchair, using a lift, and is comfortable working in someone’s private home with the Shared Living DSP who resides there as well.

Responsibilities

Willing to transport clients out into the community
Provide personal care, showers, toileting, dressing etc.
Supporting clients to help them reach and maintain plan of care goals and activities.
Have a good understanding of what community supports is
Gives hands on and eyes on care and support for clients
