Direct Support Professional (DSP)
About The Position
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at BAYADA provide one-on-one care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them build confidence, strengthen everyday skills, and live more independently in the comfort of their own homes. This role offers a meaningful, relationship-centered opportunity for individuals with at least one year of experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Requirements
- At least one year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- High school diploma or equivalent (18+)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and locations
- Reliable transportation and ability to drive clients to activities
- Willingness to travel between clients within your assigned area
Responsibilities
- Provide support with daily routines and personal care
- Help individuals build life skills and maintain independence
- Offer encouragement, consistency, and meaningful companionship
- Support engagement at home and within the community
- Ability to work independently in a client's home/community
- Accompany clients on errands and appointments
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Participate in community integration activities
- Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming, etc.)
