Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. This role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The DSP will foster pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry. Work is performed under the supervision of the House Manager, with observation of activities, residents' responsiveness, and inspection of living areas used for review. The role enhances independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma/G.E.D. is preferred.
- Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
- Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
- Assisting individuals with daily and personal activities to enhance their independence.
