About The Position

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is currently seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our group homes in the Parsippany area, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. This flexible role is ideal for individuals looking to supplement their income while making a meaningful difference.

Requirements

• Must be 20 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to successfully complete State and Federal criminal background checks
• Ability to successfully complete Drug screening
• Ability to successfully complete Pre-employment physical and PPD
• Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training

Nice To Haves

• DSP experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, supervision, mentoring, and guidance to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
• Assist individuals with daily living skills (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene).
• Assist individuals with health and wellness (personal medical care, healthy living).
• Assist individuals with community participation (shopping, recreation, outings).
• Assist individuals with social and emotional development (coping skills, communication, friendships).
• Assist individuals with budgeting and money management.
• Promote independence, dignity, and autonomy.
• Help individuals build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
