This role involves providing quality care, direction, guidance, and help to customers with daily activities. This includes assistance with bathing, bathroom functions, feeding, planning menus, dressing, grooming, taking medication and/or administering treatments, and housework. The Direct Support Professional will also help customers make and keep appointments, provide or arrange transportation for errands, and serve as a companion. A key aspect of the role is to help customers achieve agreed-upon goals to improve their quality of life and integration into the community. Daily written updates of each shift’s activities are required using an online platform. Additionally, the role involves observing the customer’s condition and monitoring the surroundings to ensure customer safety and success, including the monitoring of equipment and materials. Other duties may be assigned.
