Based in community settings, within a program, and working closely with our clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans, DSPs provide assistance and strategies to the individuals we serve to live as independently as possible. This role involves transportation and support out in the community for outings/field trips, medical appointments, and shopping. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills such as meal preparation and medication administration, providing guidance on developmental goals (community participation, budgeting, exercise, nutrition, vocational responsibilities), supporting persons served with living skills (personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, toileting), and assisting individuals to redirect agitated or aggressive behaviors.
