About The Position

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are needed to join the team at Merakey's program in Willingboro, NJ. The role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. This includes fostering pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry. Work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager, with assessments made through observation, resident responsiveness, and reports. The DSP will assist with daily and personal activities to enhance independence.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
Prefer candidates have their own transportation.

Responsibilities

Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.

Assisting individuals with daily and personal activities to enhance their independence.
Performing work in accordance with appropriate procedures.
Observing activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, and inspecting living areas.
