About The Position

Family First Developmental Disability Solutions is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide meaningful one-on-one support to clients in their homes and communities. This role offers flexible scheduling, opportunities for additional clients and hours, and a supportive work environment. The position focuses on client needs typically between 8 am and 7 pm, Monday through Friday, with no overnight shifts required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum age: 18
Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Pass criminal, drug, and background checks
Ability to be consistent, show up on time and demonstrate clear professional communication
Smartphone and internet/data required
Ability to maintain online records and communicate via email, text and on the phone
Valid Driver’s License, Social Security Card, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance and state inspection
Willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and other required trainings
Willing to obtain CDC-recommended immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Seasonal Influenza)

Nice To Haves

One year of DSP experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

Follow individualized support plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences
Provide domestic support: cooking, cleaning, medication assistance, appointment scheduling/attendance, shopping, transportation, and housing management
Support clients in accessing social activities and community resources
Encourage community inclusion through events, volunteering, advocacy, and transportation
Ensure client health and safety at all times
Collaborate with supervisors, families, and care team members
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with State of Maine regulations using Wellsky Personal Care app
Uphold professionalism, respect, and client-centered care
Clear and consistent communication
