About The Position

At ViaQuest Residential Services, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. This role is ideal for candidates seeking a career in healthcare or looking to gain experience in the IDD field, with comprehensive training provided. The position offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, including pathways to becoming a nursing assistant or STNA. We welcome applicants of all ages, from high school graduates to retirees, and offer both full-time and part-time positions with various shifts available.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Personal, reliable vehicle that you're willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
  • Valid (Ohio) driver's license and car insurance.
  • Motor Vehicle Record Must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria
  • Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
  • Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
  • Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Providing personal care assistance.
