About The Position

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join their team as Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at their Barnegat group home supporting individuals with disabilities. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live meaningful, independent lives while ensuring their safety and well-being during afternoon hours. The mission of Advancing Opportunities is to achieve full societal participation for all people with disabilities.

Requirements

• Must be 20 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass: State & Federal criminal background checks
• Ability to pass: Drug screening
• Ability to pass: Pre-employment physical and PPD
• Willingness to complete all required orientation and training

Responsibilities

• Assisting and teaching skills related to daily living (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene)
• Assisting and teaching skills related to health and wellness (medication support, healthy living)
• Assisting and teaching skills related to community involvement (shopping, recreation, transportation)
• Assisting and teaching skills related to social development (communication, coping skills, friendships)
