About The Position

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join their team as Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at their Barnegat group home supporting individuals with disabilities. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live meaningful, independent lives while ensuring their safety and well-being during afternoon hours. The mission of Advancing Opportunities is to achieve full societal participation for all people with disabilities.

Requirements

Must be 20 years or older
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass State & Federal criminal background checks
Ability to pass Drug screening
Ability to pass Pre-employment physical and PPD
Willingness to complete all required orientation and training

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on support, guidance, and encouragement to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Assist and teach skills related to daily living (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene).
Assist and teach skills related to health and wellness (medication support, healthy living).
Assist and teach skills related to community involvement (shopping, recreation, transportation).
Assist and teach skills related to social development (communication, coping skills, friendships).
Assist and teach skills related to budgeting and money management.
Promote independence, dignity, and choice.
Help individuals build confidence, life skills, and autonomy.
