About The Position

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our Lincoln Park group home supporting individuals with disabilities. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live meaningful, independent lives while ensuring their safety and well-being during afternoon hours. Our Mission To achieve full societal participation for all people with disabilities.

Requirements

Must be 20 years or older
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass: State & Federal criminal background checks Drug screening Pre-employment physical and PPD
Willingness to complete all required orientation and training

Responsibilities

Direct Support Professionals provide hands-on support, guidance, and encouragement to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Assisting and teaching skills related to Daily living (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene)
Assisting and teaching skills related to Health and wellness (medication support, healthy living)
Assisting and teaching skills related to Community involvement (shopping, recreation, transportation)
Assisting and teaching skills related to Social development (communication, coping skills, friendships)
Assisting and teaching skills related to Budgeting and money management
Promoting independence, dignity, and choice
Helping individuals build confidence, life skills, and autonomy
