About The Position

The Arc of Somerset County is dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We provide a wide range of programs and services that enhance the quality of life for over 1,400 individuals across 33 locations, including group homes, employment centers, and community programs. This role involves assisting consumers with skill development, daily living activities, personal care, domestic living, recreation, and socialization. The position also includes ensuring clients' nutritional needs, assisting with meal planning and preparation, collaborating on Individual Service Plans (ISP), training and supporting consumers in their ISP goals, assisting with medication administration, and supporting consumers in community integration.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED required
Valid Driver’s license
One year’s experience I/DD (preferred)

Responsibilities

Assist consumers, as needed, in skill development, activities of daily living, personal care, domestic living, recreation and socialization
Ensure assigned clients’ nutritional needs; assisting with feeding as necessary
Assist consumers in nutritional planning, grocery shopping and preparation of all meals.
Collaborate on the development/implementation of consumers’ Individual Service plans (ISP).
Train and support consumers in all areas of their ISP.
Assist with medication administration.
Train and support consumers in the community including: social, recreational, cultural, religion and education networks.
