About The Position

Helpful Hearts Health Services Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Development Services (CDS) in Baltimore, Maryland. The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities in engaging with their communities, developing essential life skills, and achieving personal goals in a structured, person-centered manner. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification.
• Mandt Training certification.
• DDA Training.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, patient, compassionate, and committed to making a positive impact.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate community-based activities that promote independence and social engagement.
• Support individuals in developing communication, self-advocacy, employment readiness, and independent living skills.
• Encourage and assist with volunteering, social groups, and recreational activities.
• Implement individualized service plans (ISPs) to help individuals reach their goals.
• Provide transportation to and from community activities as needed.
• Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all individuals supported.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
