About The Position

Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Skill Creations, Inc., a nonprofit agency helping people with disabilities meet their personal goals. Due to personal care needs and family preference, support worker must be female. Hours: 6-36 hours available; 20 hr/wk available with one client, 6-16 hr/wk available with second client. Employee could work both schedules or choose one of the two. 30+ hours earns benefits. The DSP is responsible for various duties related to overall support and care for individuals receiving services. We serve individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and secondary mental health needs. The DSP works in the individual's home and/or in a community setting, providing care according to the specific needs and goals of the individual.

Requirements

Comfort with providing full incontinence care
High School, GED, or College Transcript from an accredited school.
Valid NC Driver's license and acceptable Driving Record.
Insured vehicle for client transportation.
Criminal Record Check.
Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording.
Ability to remain on one's feet most of the time.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, and to occasionally balance, bend, stoop and kneel.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays.
Ability to meet client-specific needs.
Due to personal care needs, this family is seeking a female DSP.
