DSP Day Program (Per-Diem) - Brooklyn
About The Position
AHRC New York City is seeking compassionate and dedicated Per-Diem Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in our adult day programs. This role is based in our Brooklyn Programs. The position is Per-Diem with the potential to become Full-Time with Full Benefits based on performance. The pay rate is $20 per hour, with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM (30 hours a week). Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Flexibility to meet the scheduling needs of individuals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, staff, and community agencies.
Nice To Haves
- Experience personal of professional working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of Home and Community-Based Waiver services is a plus.
- Understanding of Person-Centered Planning.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
- The oversight of all safety and health considerations
- Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
- Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
