About The Position
Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking experienced Direct Care staff for their Meadows Homes in Southwick, MA. These are small residential group homes, each housing 2-5 residents with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities. The role involves assisting residents with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, medication administration, personal care, and community outings. CHD is hosting a hiring event on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 11 am to 2 pm, and will contact qualified candidates to schedule interviews, with potential for on-the-spot job offers.
Requirements
- Candidates should have a valid driver's license (all drivers under the age of 21 must have 1 years of driving history)
- Willingness to provide personal care to residents served
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting people with behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges is preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals that have medical and/or behavioral complexities highly preferred.
- Those holding CPR/First Aid and MAP certification a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation.
- Support individuals with behavioral challenges using positive, person-centered approaches.
- Promote independence, community engagement, and skill development.
- Administer medications and follow individualized care plans (training provided as required).
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
- Complete documentation and communicate effectively with team members.
