About The Position

Advancing Opportunities, Inc. is seeking compassionate professionals to join their team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This role involves providing direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting, empowering them to live fulfilling and independent lives. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

Must be at least 20 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain).
Ability to pass state and federal criminal background checks, drug screening, and pre-employment physical and PPD.

Nice To Haves

Further education in a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when necessary
Supporting daily living skills and independence
Helping individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events
Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment
Following individualized support plans and goals
Promoting dignity, respect, and person-centered care
