About The Position
Devereux Children Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) through their Walk-In Wednesday hiring event. This role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals, participating in daily activities to encourage growth, addressing and redirecting behaviors, and implementing treatment plan goals. The position offers opportunities for learning and growth in behavioral health and human services, a supportive environment, and participation in the treatment planning process. The ASCEND- Career Accelerator Program and paid training are also offered. Benefit eligibility begins after 30 days of employment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
- Prior experience working with children in behavioral health is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and maintain the well-being of the individuals in your care at all times.
- Participate in daily ADLs, recreational, and social activities to encourage growth, confidence, and independence.
- Address and appropriately redirect inappropriate behaviors, reinforcing positive actions through supportive communication.
- Implement individualized treatment plan goals and objectives, working collaboratively with the clinical team to support each person’s development.
