About The Position

ACHIEVE is hiring a Direct Support Professional for its Day Habilitation program in Binghamton, New York. This full-time, first-shift role supports individuals with moderate to severe disabilities in developing independence, discovering their abilities, building friendships, and participating in their community. Training is paid and provided, and no prior experience is necessary. The position pays $19.00–$20.25 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid New York State driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
Ability to lift and assist with up to 50 pounds, including transfers and physical support.

Responsibilities

Promote independence and support individuals with moderate to severe disabilities.
Transport individuals to community volunteer and recreational activities, such as visiting parks, shopping, and eating at local restaurants.
Provide supervision, training, and support during community outings.
Implement goal plans and collect data to monitor progress.
Maintain accurate daily participant records, charts, logs, and case or progress notes according to the Direct Supervisor’s instructions and the individual treatment plan methodologies.
Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment.
Order supplies with approval from the Direct Supervisor.
Assist individuals with toileting, if needed.
Complete monthly progress notes and semi-annual and annual reviews as assigned or in the absence of the Direct Supervisor.
Assist individuals with boarding and disembarking from vehicles.
Monitor vehicle passengers and maintain order to ensure passenger safety and adherence to safety regulations.
Assist in planning activities that foster community integration.
