About The Position

MYEP is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support adults with disabilities in our residential program. Direct Support Professionals assist individuals in their homes and communities while promoting independence, dignity, choice, and meaningful daily experiences. Staff provide supervision, guidance, and assistance with daily living activities while supporting individuals in developing skills, maintaining relationships, and participating in their communities. Our residential services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and staff schedules are developed around the support needs of the individuals we serve. This position requires reliability, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while providing respectful, person-centered support.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting individuals with daily routines and household activities
  • Supporting meal preparation and basic cooking tasks
  • Encouraging independence with personal care and hygiene
  • Providing hands-on personal care and physical assistance when needed
  • Assisting with organization, budgeting, and daily planning
  • Supporting individuals during community activities, appointments, and outings
  • Encouraging social engagement and skill development
  • Helping individuals build relationships and participate in meaningful activities
  • Providing transportation when required as part of the employee's assigned duties
  • Monitoring the general health, safety, and wellbeing of individuals supported
  • Administering medications after successful completion of required training
  • Recognizing and reporting changes in health, mood, behavior, or functioning
  • Following individualized health, safety, and behavioral support plans
  • Providing additional medical or personal-care support when assigned and appropriately trained
  • Completing progress notes and other required documentation for each shift
  • Accurately documenting services provided
  • Communicating important information to supervisors and team members
  • Following individual service plans, agency policies, and established procedures
