About The Position
We’re hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Wake, Durham, Chatham, Orange Counties! In this rewarding role, you’ll work one-on-one in home and community settings, serving as a trusted companion and mentor to Children, Teens and Adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities - helping them live fuller, more independent lives. This is an ideal part-time opportunity for a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), Behavioral Technician (BT), Paraprofessional, Teacher/ Teaching Assistant or anyone interested in supporting others as they work towards their goals of independence! Requirements
- One year experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities (If you do not have this experience, training may be available through our apprentice program)
- High school diploma or equivalent (18+)
- Ability to provide clients with transportation to and from appointments, errands and community outings
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), Behavioral Technician (BT), Paraprofessional or Teacher/ Teaching Assistant highly preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming)
- Provide clients with transportation on errands, appointments and community outings
- Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Participate in community integration activities
