About The Position

Wall Residences provides high-quality community services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking part-time, experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) for our Supported Living and In-Home Care services in the Rockingham County, Virginia area to include Harrisonburg, Bridgewater, Broadway, Dayton, etc. This role involves creating meaningful relationships, enjoying fun activities, and making a difference in the community while earning a paycheck.

Requirements

• Part-time availability.
• Experience as a Direct Support Professional.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Availability for occasional on-call work.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to keep accurate notes.
• Hiring dependent on references and criminal background check free of barrier crimes.
• Active driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• No more than 2 moving violations or accidents within past 3 years.
• No major violations within past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning, meal planning, cooking, and organizing.
• Help individuals enrich their own lives through exploring volunteer opportunities.
• Support personal care needs.
• Provide transportation.
• Provide advocacy for medical/dental appointments.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Keep accurate notes to ensure continuity of quality care.
• Act as mandated reporters of abuse and neglect for individuals with disabilities.
