About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in Marlton, NJ. The role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. This includes fostering pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry. Work is performed under the supervision of the House Manager, with observations and reports used to assess progress. The DSP will assist with daily and personal activities to enhance independence.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age
Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
A valid driver's license is required
1 year experience working with people with developmental disabilities

Nice To Haves

Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred
NADD DSP Certification training within first year of employment

Responsibilities

Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
Fostering a sense of pride in individuals by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
Assisting with daily and personal activities to enhance independence.
Performing work in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager.
Observing activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, and inspecting living areas.
