Direct Support Professional Specialized
About The Position
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are sought to join Merakey's team at their program in Pemberton, NJ. The role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. This includes fostering pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry. Work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager, with results reviewed through observation, resident responsiveness, inspection, reports, and meetings. The DSP will assist with daily and personal activities to enhance independence.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
- A valid driver's license is required
- 1 year experience working with people with developmental disabilities
Nice To Haves
- Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred
- NADD DSP Certification training within first year of employment
