The Direct Support Professional - Residential Aid will provide training and supervision to residents in ADL skills and will directly participate in daily household management. This role involves assisting individuals in developing independent living skills, personal care, money management, and community orientation. The position requires accurate documentation, adherence to agency policies, and the ability to act as a role model. Employees are expected to report to work during inclement weather due to the critical nature of the agency's work and 24-hour coverage. Travel between work locations may be required, with reimbursement for approved personal vehicle use. The specific work schedule and site placement are determined by program needs and are subject to change. Administering resident medications, accompanying residents on outings, and maintaining the residence are also key responsibilities. The role also involves advocacy for the rights of the developmentally disabled and adherence to specific regulations.
