About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team in Slatington, PA. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong desire to create long-term impacts on individuals' lives, enjoying encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. DSPs will spend their days in various settings, making memories with individuals by following their Support Plan. This includes activities like visiting parks and sensory gardens while working on social and communication skills. The role also involves fostering pride and independence by teaching daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and laundry, and assisting with daily and personal activities to enhance independence.

Requirements

Must be 18 years old
A valid driver’s license is required

Nice To Haves

High School diploma/G.E.D preferred
Related experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Following the Individuals Support Plan
Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals
Teaching daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and laundry
Assisting with daily and personal activities to enhance independence
