About The Position

This is an entry-level role in a residential, group home setting. The primary responsibility is to follow all health and safety protocols outlined in each individual’s Individual Service Plan (ISP), adhering to department policies and practices that align with state regulations. Clear, thorough, and consistent communication with all team members, including family, medical professionals, support coordinators, behavior consultants, and other TCV staff and supervisors, is required. Casual employees are expected to be available to work a minimum of 25 hours per month, with shifts being either 8 or 12.5 hours long.

Requirements

  • GED or High School diploma.
  • Driver’s license is required.
  • Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
  • Physical ability to successfully perform CPR, First Aid procedures, and Behavior Management physical intervention.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Following all health and safety protocols outlined in each individual’s ISP.
  • Adhering to the policies and practices of the department which follow state regulations.
  • Engaging and interacting with individuals in a positive manner, regardless of their behaviors.
  • Providing and ensuring a safe environment, constantly supervising individuals, following program rules and routines, and reporting and documenting all safety-related incidents.
  • Ensuring the environment is clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Teaching and assisting individuals in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as room cleaning, chores, laundry, and personal hygiene.
  • Demonstrating commitment to family engagement and individual-driven care principles.
  • Supervising designated shifts after specific training, ensuring all activities are planned and executed appropriately.
  • Ensuring appropriate notifications are made and that all relevant shift documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
  • Assisting clinicians by reviewing service notes for quality.
  • Conducting observations and providing feedback for required trainings (e.g., Essential Skills).
  • Being a mentor.
  • Other duties as required.
