About The Position
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) as an Independent Contractor to provide services to a male individual with developmental disabilities in the Charlotte area (28205). This role involves providing Day Support, Supported Employment, and Community Networking Services for approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The DSP will offer companionship, care, and support to help the individual thrive.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help the individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
- Transport and accompany the individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
