About The Position
Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a 20-year-old man in the Syracuse, NY area. The role involves engaging the individual in community activities, assisting with independent living skills, and encouraging him to explore new hobbies and activities. This is a per diem position with approximately 8-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours. The services provided are Com Hab, with a pay rate of $25 per hour. We are looking for reliable, patient, enthusiastic individuals who can work independently. Prior experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Reliable transportation is required, and a background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive at the job site at the scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
