About The Position

This role involves providing direct support to individuals in a group home setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to personalized care plans. The position requires setting a positive example, fostering trust, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Responsibilities include assisting individuals with daily living activities, meal preparation, transportation, medication administration, and maintaining accurate documentation. The Direct Support Professional must be vigilant, uphold confidentiality, and cooperate with regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Must remain awake and immediately accessible in all homes requiring 24/7 care.
• Ability to administer medications.
• Cooperate with Beacon Specialized Living, the Department of Human Services (DHS) staff or any other regulatory body during any inspection, investigation or inquiry.

• Maintain confidentiality of all individuals.
• Follow and uphold all house guidelines.
• Prepare meals according to food specifications, diets, and food exchanges.
• Manage food supply and storage.
• Transport individuals and attend appointments with them.
• Assist individuals with budgeting their funds.
• Complete required documentation before the end of shift.
• Assist with supervision of individuals' laundry and cleanliness.
• Maintain cleanliness of the home site.
• Remain awake and accessible in homes requiring 24/7 care.
• Administer medications.
• Communicate effectively with the next shift staff.
• Cooperate with regulatory bodies during inspections and investigations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
