About The Position

At ViaQuest Residential Services, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Training for this position is provided in its entirety, so no experience is required. This role offers a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the individuals served and is ideal for candidates without experience, those interested in starting a career in healthcare, nursing assistants, and those looking to gain experience while taking classes or without a degree. Candidates of all ages (high school graduates to retirees) are welcome.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Personal, reliable vehicle that you're willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance.
  • Motor Vehicle Record must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
  • Can push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Can climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

  • Candidates without experience (training is provided).

  • Nursing assistants and those interested in pursuing a career as an STNA.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to foster increased independence, choice, and empowerment while assuring their health and safety needs are met.
  • Supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in all aspects of their lives.
  • Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Providing personal care assistance.
