About The Position
AHRC New York City is holding a HIRING EVENT with ON THE SPOT JOB OFFERS! for Full -Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for our Bronx residences. The role involves helping others, improving the quality of life for others, building long lasting meaningful relationships, and helping others with community inclusion. Responsibilities include the oversight of all safety and health considerations, promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies, assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs), and other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.
Requirements
- Driver's license Required
- Weekend availability needed
- Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills
- Patience is a MUST!
- Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings.
- Ability to use a computer for data entry.
Nice To Haves
- Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
- High school education/GED, preferred.
