Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- No disqualifying events on criminal background check
- No disqualifying events on Health Care Workers Registry
- Pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol test
- Valid Drivers License required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care services for individuals with intellectual disabilities including assistance with activities of daily living such as hygiene, dressing, and eating.
- Train individuals to acquire skills necessary to enhance independence.
- Participate in and implement Individual Habilitation Plans.
- Pass DSP classroom and OJT program approved by Illinois DHS
- Understand written and oral English Language
- Record observations in participants’ files
- Write legible, clear, and accurate observations in standard English
- Able to complete Medication Program required by DHS
- Lift 50 pounds without assistance; transfer residents from bed to wheelchair and back; operate mechanical lift
- Stand, sit, walk, reach, grip, bend and lift as assessed by job analysis screening
- Remain free of alcohol and/or illegal substance use while working; as determined by random testing
