About The Position

We are hiring an Independent Living Support Specialist (DSP) to provide 1:1 community-based support for a young adult in the McMinnville area.
In this role, you will:
Provide transportation and after-school support
Support structured routines and goal-oriented activities
Encourage independence and social engagement
Provide calm, consistent, and respectful support
This position is ideal for someone who is patient, organized, and confident using structured communication approaches.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
• Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)

Nice To Haves

• Experience in caregiving, DSP, education, or behavioral support
• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
• Familiarity with structured communication strategies or visual supports
• CPR/First Aid certification

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation from Chemeketa Community College
• Support daily routines and structured activities
• Encourage independence and goal progression
• Use clear communication strategies (visual supports, “first/then”)
• Provide calm, non-escalating support
• Support community engagement and social interaction
• Maintain a structured, respectful, and supportive environment
• Communicate updates with care teams and document services
