About The Position
Great Livin' in Albuquerque, NM is actively seeking a reliable full-time or part-time Living Support / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support our residential clients with disabilities in leading self-directed, independent, meaningful lives. This assisted living position earns competitive pay starting at $15.00 to $18.00 an hour. Great Livin' LLC takes into consideration your years of experience and training. Great Livin' LLC. offers paid training to all employees. Training includes all Developmental Disabilities Supports Division state-based trainings, CPR/First Aid/AED, and Handle with Care trainings. Requirements
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a fingerprint and background check (Provided by the company)
- Complete a TB Test (Provided by the company)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoy coaching and mentoring others
- Patient, respectful, tactful, and calm under pressure
- A heart for serving people with disabilities
Responsibilities
- Support adults with developmental disabilities who receive DD Waiver (DDW) services to live their best lives as independently as possible.
- Provide support and guidance in assisted living homes and programs.
- Assist with bathing, hygiene, shopping, meal preparation, transportation, and housekeeping.
- Model appropriate social skills and behaviors.
- Teach participants new skills and help them achieve goals using effective teaching and mentoring techniques.
- Help residents get better access to the community by assisting them with educational and recreational activities.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Promptly report any concerns about residents' health or safety.
