About The Position

At ViaQuest Residential Services, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities and their homes. The goal is to foster increased independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring the health and safety needs of the individuals are met at all times. This role is ideal for candidates without prior experience, as comprehensive training is provided, including certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration. It's a great opportunity for those looking to start a career in healthcare, gain experience in the IDD field, or for nursing assistants interested in pursuing an STNA career. The position is also suitable for individuals gaining experience while taking classes or those without a degree, and candidates of all ages (high school graduates to retirees) are welcome.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Personal, reliable vehicle that you're willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
  • Valid OH driver's license and car insurance.
  • Must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
  • Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to foster increased independence, choice, and empowerment while assuring their health and safety needs are met.
  • Supervising, teaching, and assisting individuals in all aspects of their lives.
  • Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Providing personal care assistance.
