About The Position

Abilities Network is seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for their Baltimore Metro region, which includes Baltimore City, Middle River, Essex, and Dundalk. This role involves helping individuals achieve personal independence by supporting skill development and building natural support systems. A key responsibility is driving individuals to community activities and events, requiring the use of a personal vehicle, car insurance, and a valid driver's license. The organization is a multi-year winner of the Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplace award and focuses on empowering individuals through relationships. The starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with an average annual starting income of $46,900, including an auto allowance and mileage reimbursement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must have valid driver’s license and positive driving record
Access to daily use of personal vehicle to travel within assigned region
Must carry a minimum of $50,000 Automobile Liability Insurance
Excellent understanding of time management
Ability to develop solutions and build relationships using community resources

Nice To Haves

Some college is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals in working toward personal independence by supporting the learning of new skills and building a system of natural supports.
Driving is required for this position, you’ll be transporting individuals so your own personal vehicle, car insurance and valid driver’s license is required.
Deliver customized services tailored to each individual's preferences and personal goals.
Provide on-the-job coaching to assist individuals in becoming independent on the job.
Encourage the development of individual's interpersonal skills.
