PT - Direct Support Professional (DSP) Support Services/ Harford County
About The Position
We are seeking a Part Time Personal Supports (DSP) to provide hands-on care to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities providing assistance with personal hygiene, activities/ outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning. Support a young man with developing independence in his home and community. Assist with creating a budget, money management skills, and skills for future independent living. Help with getting to Special Olympics and other community activities. Staff should be patient, respectful, trustworthy, and able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life. DSPs assist with creating opportunities for individuals to live full and productive lives by: Assisting with participation and exploration of the community Cultivating and expanding independent living skills Assisting with the development of meaningful and personal relationships Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals.
Requirements
- High school degree/GED
- Current driver’s license with less than three points on the driving record
- Patient
- Respectful
- Trustworthy
- Able to encourage and participate in living a fun and fulfilling life
- Some lift and transfer may be required
