Direct Support Professional (DSP) Respite- Baltimore County
About The Position
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to an individual with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Personal Support Services professionals assist individuals and families living in their personal home. Individual programs are designed around the needs and desires of each participant and implemented with attention and care. Whether living alone or with family members, individually tailored services are the best way to support people on their own terms. Services provided are personalized and directed by the individual receiving supports and may include but are not limited to: assistance with personal hygiene, activities/outings, social engagement, and shopping. The hours for this position are as needed for Respite Only. A DSP is needed to provide respite to a woman in Baltimore County.
Requirements
- High school degree/GED
- Current driver’s license with less than three points on their driving record
- Use of personal vehicle for transportation
- Use of personal cell phone for mobile punching and documentation
Responsibilities
- Assisting with participation and exploration of the community
- Cultivating and expanding independent living skills
- Assisting with development of meaningful and personal relationships
- Implementing strategies to achieve individuals’ personal goals
- Assistance with personal hygiene
- Assistance with activities/outings

- Provide transportation within the community
- Mobile punching and documentation using personal cell phone
