About The Position

This position is with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD), serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Pee Dee Regional Center. The role involves supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and ensuring the well-being and proper care of consumers. The department is dedicated to providing compassionate and accessible care, aiming to help individuals and families achieve long-term wellness and build a healthier community. This position is located in Florence, SC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, comply with all required regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, which includes standing, walking, stooping, bending and pulling.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing ICF-IID, as well as directives relevant to an ICF.
  • Ability to be a team leader and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Computer skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Direct Support Professional I and II's.
  • Ensures that all documentation required for the consumers Individual Support Plan (ISP) have been completed.
  • Monitors the safety and care of consumers.
  • Ensures Active Treatment for consumers in assigned buildings is implemented by staff.
  • Monitors programs developed by the Interdisciplinary (ID) Team.
  • Monitors completion of behavior data sheets, ISP training programs, and GER (General Event Reports) to ensure all required documentation is entered into THERAP.
  • Monitors Day Programs monthly (i.e. on/off campus).
  • Responsible for reporting significant events and suspected abuse immediately per Agency and Office policy and procedures.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • In accordance with the State’s Disaster Plan, employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
